Yet Another "Why won't they grow?" Thread

I have Zoanthids in a 12g JBJ Nano with stock lighting.

Parameters:

Salinity 1.025
PH 8.3 to 8.4
DKH 13
Calcium 420
Nitrate 0

My Xenia grow like crazy. My leather is growing just fine. I have two montipora that are fine. My Blue Clove Polyps are doing great and multiplying. Coraline is growing. Blade Gorgonian is holding its own. Red Sponge is doing fine. Yellow ball sponge is ok but could be better. Star Coral polyps are holding their own.

My Zoas just sit there doing nothing.

Is the slightly out of wack Alkalinity the likely culprit? Or should I ignore that and look for some other cause.

They are opened up just fine. They just aren't growing and multiplying much at all.

I run polyfilter and carbon. I do not run a skimmer. Flow is stock + 1 Koralia Nano.

Any ideas?

alk plays a big part in hurting zoas. i know alk swings will kill them, but most zoas are hearty and will make it thru. i had alk swings kill sps in my nano as well.

are yours staying closed? or barely opening?

pics of the specific polyps and tank shot to see where there currently residing, specs of the tank meaning flow, lights etc.

Here is a pic of the polyps involved - no idea what kind they are:

12g JBJ Nano
48 watts of PC lighting

Current location is about midway up the tank. I have tried them higher and lower.

Flow comes from stock pump of supposedly 166gph
Also Koralia Nano which is supposedly 240 gph

I have had them for roughly 4.5 months.

i think theyre wildfires, i just bought some that look the same. speaking of which, ill hijack your thread. i bought them 3 days ago and they still havent opened, i think they got cold, anyone know how long it might take them to open?
