Yet more questions for the wrasse experts

I've had a yellow wrasse for about a week now, and decided to purchase another. This time, I bought a green wrasse. I thought they would get along, since coming from the same genus.....wrong!. The yellow wrasse wants to kill the green one. I got very lucky, and captured the green wrasse, and placed him in a ~2g "critter cage"; with the "acclimation cage" inside the display tank. Is there any wrasses that will get along with the yellow wrasse? What groups (eg genus species) will coexist together without aggression?, or am I to believe this is another "trial & error" gamble. I forgot to mention the tank mates, which include: (6) blue-green chromis', (1) lawnmower blenny, and (1) purple dottyback. I might add that there's not any aggression with tank mates. Thanks in advance for your comments, I appreciate your time.

There are several yellow wrasses. Depends what kind exactly. Most are labeled as yellow coris or banana wrasse but usually are not that.

I have two yellow wrasses together that paired in qt. They were meant for separate tanks but I just kept them together. They are now in with a melanurus and a red coris. I don't even know what my yellow wrasses are but they are the full yellow version with 3 black dots.

There is also a purple yellow wrasse that is very similar when small and has a silvery bottom half and only 2 black dots I think, that turns more purple when adult. And I think yet another that is yellow with a white belly. And I'm sure a few more than that.

Also, if you leave it in the box with the other one in the tank for a week or two, that could work.

My yellow wrasse (G/s Halichoeres chrysus), also called "canary wrasse", "golden wrasse" and "yellow coris" wrasse. He also has a couple black dots on his dorsal, and maybe a tiny one near the base of his tail. The green wrasse (Halichoeres chloropterus), is shaped the same as the yellow wrasse, but is a pale/pastel green color. Thanks for responding. I guess I'll leave the green wrasse in solitary confinement, until the "attitude" settles down.

No other comments or answers from "wrasse experts"???. Especially regarding known wrasse genus species combinations that can coexist without aggression. Or, is this a trial and error gamble?

What size tank is it your trying to put the new wrasse in with the yellow? If the tank isn't large enough the yellow probably won't allow the new wrasse in the tank. If it is a large enough tank then keep him in the acclimation box until the yellow doesn't want to straight out kill him.

I don't think there's any wrasse experts here. Just hobbiest's with opinions... I could be wrong.

IMO I think it is a trial and error for the most part. There is just too many variables. Size of tank, size of fish, male/female, aquascape, availability of food for them, etc.

My wrasses also always have big full bellies so I would be comfy to add more any given time.
