Ok...I can't get a good pic of it because it is very slight right now...but I am scared I may have bryopsis. Look at this like about 3/4 down on the page.

Some of you have seen it a little in the tank (Adam and Vince)...

The tank is only a month old or so...but I am getting these whispy hairlike algae all over the place in my tank. It is growing on everything (the sand, the glass, the rock...everything). It is very thin with a feathery tip (almost looks like an ornamental grass). Right now it is very whispy (as I said), and not very noticeable. It seems to grow from a center point (like a dandilion or something). Kinda looks bushy...

If this is what I think it is...I am hosed, because it is growing on everything. Is there anything I should do?

Water quality is good...I am lighting 8 hours a day with my 4 x 48 VHO (440 watts). I had very little flow until last night (just my return was running - mag 9.5 torqued back a bit), but I added 2 Hydor 4's last night which I am hoping will help a little. (By the way the Hydors with that concentrator on the end are so much better than they were without it!)

So...what are your thoughts?!?

i think i know what you are talking about, and i dont think it is bryopsis if it is growing from a single point like a dandilion and on the glass. Nate has this in his prop tank, it is a funky kinda algea...lol...i would say just keep scraping it off the glass and get some red tip reef hermits to control it on the rocks. other than that you could limit the light down a little bit. the extra fow should limit it gorwing a little as well.

What tests do you have and what are your lvls at? I know you said when you came here that you didnt have a ph kit. Just wondering what you test for.
