So this weekend I dive my first dives in Pompano, Fl to get my open water certification. I did it with my roomate and it was awsome. But funny thing happened to her after the first two dives. After the first 30ft dive she said she was having a hard time popping her ears once she got out of the water. The instructors said there might be a little water or bubble trapped in her ear and that popping it on the next dive should take care of it. Well we get out of the second dive and on the way back in she tells me that he ear still feels funny and hers a odd noise too.

So I tell her to let me look to she if there is somthing in there (some what jokingly). I look in there and I thought I saw a rock or peice of dirt. But then surprisingly I see it move. So I tell her I think theres a CRAB in your ear. No one belives me and thinks I am just being a jerk. So I tell another student to take a look. She looks and sees it. This time my roomate actually belives me now and start to freak out. Imagine a very girly girl, who is very scared of every little critter (including the snails and hermit crabs in my tank).

The dive instructor tried to pull it out but it wouldnt come out. So he pours alcohol in her ear and out falls a tiny little swimming crab. It was about the size of a dime maybe a little smaller. But it was actually a crab. Everyone said they had never heard of somthing like that happening. Even the captn, who had been doing it for 20 years. After she calmed down the jokes started and didn't end. Im still poking fun. The best part was the second day at a completly different marina for the third and forth dives all of the employees and crewmen had already heard the story and wanted to meet her. I found it hilarious, but she wasn't quite as ammused. LOL

Anyways we did both complete the course and we are now certified divers. YAY

LOL. The dive master tried showing it to hear and she knocked it out of his hand and into the water. I really wanted to take a closer look but didn't get there in time. A women on the boat actually said she would have paid to have that happen to her. I found that a little odd.

That's more than a little odd :eek2:

I had the same thing happen to me when I was diving in St. Lucia - it was a tiny white crab about 1cm!

All the diving I've done and it was the first time anything like that happened!
