Your DIY Canopy pics request

These are few pic of mine. I didn't do well detailing the build but...
The whole thing is 8'x2' and about 12 inches high outside. Each side is completely removable for tank access and one door is functional for feeding and stuff. the "skeleton" is all 1/4 white acrylic. The side panels are 1/8 acrylic attached to the oak. The sides have a 3/4 inch extruded square acrylic bar machined into a hook at the top and bottom. Its been on the tank about a year and a half now and seems to be holding up great. No warpage, no cracks, no problems, knock on wood!

The lights are on a track that can slide back.

This is a pic of my 90 canopy before I sold it. I used to have metal Halides in there as well. Kinda plain looking back at it now....

I wanted mine to slide for feeding, tilt for access or to be removable.

Now that is slick. Can you give more info how how you did that?

does anyone have a canopy modded to accomodate some halides. i have the basic 75 gal, 4 foot long tank. the canopy is basic box with access by lifting the lid up and its attached with a 4 foot long hinge on the rear. the canopy is about 8 inches tall and will be modded with 12 inch board. but with the extra inches in height, i can barely reach in the tank with 8 and definately wont like reaching in with 12. i want to keep the top lid easy access but wondering what other ideas anyone had with just front access.

pelochas go to the link I have above and see my canopy. I have a 30" tall tank and needed direct access without having to reach over a canopy. I put doors in the canopy and detailed the complete build project.

What type of and what size wood did you use??? Thanks. I'm having issues trying to find some wood and I'm curious as to what others have used.
