Hello everyone

I'm just a regular member on here, so I am unable to do a search on this. I am thinking about getting a Sohal Tang, probably about 4".

I would like to hear about your experiences with this "RC Model" fish. I will be moving the Vlamingi soon, but in the future, I would like to get a Regal Tang.

Please feel free to post your comments.

Thank you!

Hi, I have a sohal tang in a fish only with live rock.and he thinks he is the boss. He will try to take over the tank .He wants all the food to his self. They can get very nasty.Be carefull on what kind of fish you put them with.

I have a Sohal now in 160G....he was in 110G before.

Mine is getting more agressive now, he is a medium size.

He swims a lot and need a lot of room....I did my aquascape with few rocks to give space to him...

I will post a picture when I arrive in home :-)

Regards

With my Sohal I got him at about 4" but within 8 months he is about 9", you might want to make sure he is the last tang in the tank. I have him in a 240gal but before that he was in a 120gal with a yellow and Hippo tang which he gets along with, I tried to put in a Naso but the Sohal went postal on him so I got him out and gave him to a friend with a large tank...the Naso not the Sohal. He has the best personality in my tank, he shows absolutely no fear of people and likes to be rubbed and he bites when I feed the tank, he doesn't draw blood like my Picasso Trigger.

I've seen several tanks where the sohal has killed every other fish in a matter of hours after years of peace.

I was also considering a blonde naso tang, maybe I should focus more on that fish then the sohal for aggression reasons.

I don't say it to freak you out. I only say it because I've seen it enough to think that people should be aware of the possibility. Now, unlike when clown triggers snap, sohals only kill the other fish, so the corals are left alone.

In one tank, where I only saw the aftermath, not the actual battles, the sohal had been OK for over 4 years. Then, in a matter of about 4 hours killed every other fish in there.

What do you feed your Sohals?

What do you feed your Sohals?

Did any of you have trouble getting your Sohal to eat at first? If so, what finally did the job? What is their favourite food now?

Thanks.
