Wow, what to say.
First, SLR's do not have the "hassle" of multiple lenses. They have the "option" of multiple lenses. If you put a cheap 28-300 mm lens on a DSLR and never used anything else, you would have the same thing as the Fuji.
AN SLR either is or isn't. If the veiwfinder looks through the actual lens, then its an SLR. If it uses the viewfinder (and isn't the new $6000 Canon) then it isn't.
All SLR's can be used as a point and shoot. Like other point and shoots, you rely on the in-camera processing. A powerful desktop computer can do it much better. SLR's give you the option of shooting manual and raw letting that bigger processor (your computer) do its magic.
The Fuji is going to cost you $600. Save up another $200 and get a real DSLR. You won't be sorry.
