Your Top 30 SPS

I have decided to start completely over. I will be changing everything that I feel I can improve on, including the tank, stand and canopy. With a fresh start I have plenty of time to figure out which coral I am going to purchase for my next tank. My plan is to have all Acro and Millie's. I might be willing to have acans on the bottom or a couple large Chalices. Before I go down this road I would like to know what your top 30 corals of all time are. Hopefully I agree and I can locate the coral to have an outstanding tank.

I don't know if I have 30 favorites, but a few that I really like are pearlberry, red planet, garf purple bonzai, m.setosa, a.nasuta, just to name a few. There are sooo many cool corals.

Shop around and go to the source. I would rather pay twice the price upfront than get ripped off and have something I don't want.

ask around youre local reef club meetings or post on your local reef club website *if you have one. usually theres a bunch of reefers in your area that have collected and sell these corals. some will be hard to find but with a little hard work you can find just about anything local *within 50 miles* (atleast thats my experience). Or you can do like pyton does and pay through the nose for 1/2" nubs from their online websites. Also, a lot of the bigger frag farmer swaps will have the designer corals for sale.

The down side to shopping around your local clubs or frag farmer swaps is you better know the coral like the back of your hand. I found (even myself have done this) locals or frag farmers forget exactly what they have and sell it as something else. By the time your frag grows out the color has changed and depending on your flow the branching changes slightly that you realize it is not what you paid for.

I love torts! Not just the Cali or Oregon but just about all of them. There is one tort that I had years a go that died on a tank crash. I have not seen it for years. I looked all over the place with no luck. Last night I finally found it on a website that I visit regularly. I called them up and they had just posted it, down side 90 bucks for 1/2" frag. I have ordered from them before and they mean 1/2" I just do not have a choice in this matter. All well hopefully they have it still when I am ready to get it.
