You can count on that for sure.....its a balance between the "look" and performance.......I think that those bulbs I suggested are the ones people have found to be a good balance between the two and just was suggestting them in case you hadn't considered them.
what is even more frustrating is that the color temps and the way the look differ not only from manufacturer to manufacturer but bulb to bulb made by the same place...not too mention the whole ballast, and wattage, SE vs DE coloration.
For instance, 14K Phoenix 150W DEs and 250W DEs look a little different to me........and when I had 150DEs Phoenix on my tank it looked WAY too blue, but the same bulb on Jordans looked really good and has made me reconsider them now that I have the 250s and want a bluer look for both the 75g and especcially the nano.
Another thing, who has used the Aqualine Busheke 10k that is rated at a 13K..........I would consider that bulb if its not yellow and as blue as it is described to as being. 13K with Actinics and 10K PAR could be the best of both worlds.
In fact, I change mine out every 6 months just to see whats out there and eventually will find something I can live with for a while.....it seems that these Ushios are shifting towards the yellow only after six months.
