Yukonblizzard's Shark and Ray Reef Lagoon

this is just AWESOME.......you have to either ahve a VERY understanding wife or be single.....my wife would KILL ME!!!! LMAO

ive been debating on a plywood tank but i kinda like the way yours looks with the pond liner........

cant wait to see more of this...

Haha, thanks DJ, trust me she wants to kill me;)

I was thinking about doing a plywood tank also, but I just did not feel comfortable doing it that way. So I decided to do the liner route, and so far I am happy with it. I thought that I would be able to see the liner folded over and look sloppy, but the pressure of the water compressed it enough to make it barely noticeable.

Just looked at that thread; I actually really like it. And your idea is really awesome! Kind of like a tide pool with starfish and other little critters crawling on it.

I believe that this is a fantastic idea!!! I checked the volcano one out myself too and I really love the idea

Great build! Something like this could really push the boundaries of size.

Any issues with humidity? Just curious as my 300 is kicking moisture out beyond what my fans could handle.

sweet tank. gave me lots of ideas... cant start any of them yet haha.

Yeah thats how it usually goes for me too:LOL:

Thanks SerpentMan, if I close the doors to the room it does get very hot and humid, but once the doors are open and the fans and Dehumidifier are on the humidity is fine.

love it! stocking ideas?

Thanks TTU, I am not exactly sure what I want to do as far as stocking goes, but I am thinking something along these lines...

2*Vlamingi Tang (already have)
3*Purple Tang(already have)
3*Hippo Tang(already have 1)
5*Yellow Tang(already have 1)
1*Powder Blue Tang(maybe try to do a pair)
1*Clown Tang

3*Yellow Stingray
2*Mexican Horn Shark

Any suggestions??

hmm If I were you I would keep it just a sand bed with some rocks at the back for bacterial purposes. the rays would have a larger area on the sand bed while the sharks would be above swimming gracefully. HAHA
just my 2 cents

What a fantastic build! I loved the video, how you panned around to show all the equipment. That skimmer - Looks like it's ready to handle the job. I look forward to seeing it stocked!
