Yuma Help Please!

I recently purchased two Yuma's and they are not looking to good. The first one is a pink yuma that seems to be slowly detaching off the rock it came on. The second is a multicolor yuma that is producing a clear slime underneath it and the center is starting to droop. The pink one that is coming off the rock I moved it so the flow doesn't push it off anymore, but it just doesn't seem to be helping. I gave the multicolor yuma an Iodine dip last night, but it still seems to be producing a clear slime, I have also been sucking up some of the slime with a turkey baster being very careful not to touch the yuma. I have other yuma's in my tank for awhile never had any problems. I really would hate to lose these if anyone has any info to help that would be great.

are they placed in a well lite place? if so, you may want to move them to lower light. i had the same problem with certain yumas in the past. i usually start with low light, low flow then acclimate slowly to their final resting place. hope they pull through.

I have had most success when I let my yumas detach and find the spot they liked.
Mine now sit in a crevice that gets partial light and medium flow over it.
Have now grown and woudn't be surprised if they start splitting.
Only problem seems to be that they take a while to settle in if they do and like to be photo climated to where you might like them.

They both are still alive, the pink one wound up detaching, and now it floating around near some other mushrooms, i'm hoping it will attach to something and I can move it out so it's visible. The multi color one doesn't have ant more slime, but it did lose alot of color. The good new is they both didn't die, hopefully they make a full recovery. I did use that Tropic Marine Pro-Cural Dip, so maybe that helped save them. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Glad to hear it. One of the things I do for the detached situation is get a flat plug, either cut or manufactured. PVC pipe section about two inches max in height and some rubber bands and rubber band the pipe to the plug. Just drop the yuma down in making sure it's upright. Best way to check is to periodically blow gently down in there with a turkey baester and see if it moves around. I've lost a couple to the clear slime. Agonizing slow deaths. I've got one new one that I treated with Erthromycin thats hanging in there but is heavily bleached. I'm hoping to nurse it back to health. I'm glad to hear yours are doing well. Keep us up to date with any success. Realize that you are on the forefront of something that we are going through repeatedly and have few answers. Yumas can be hard to establish.
