Yuma Help!

What is my Yuma doing?
Looks like he wants to detach from the rock and has some milky, stringy, whitish stuff coming out from underneath.

I would try to get the white stuff off the mushroom. I've had this happen to a rock of yumas. It started on one mushroom and spread over time. Eventually all but two of the yumas fell off the rock and dissolved. I asked my lfs about it (since it was a $100 rock....) and they said it was probably a bacterial infection and they suggested a Lugol's dip. So I did the dip at half strength (I lost some other mushrooms to a full stength dip so I thought half was better then nothing) and I believe it saved the last two yumas.
 
Took a turkey baster to it and suck all the white stuff off.
Seems to have settled down to the rock now.
Should I still risk a Lugos dip?

the yuma is unhappy. It is decaying. I have never dipped a yuma but I have lost a few to the same thing that you are doing.
 
I would give it some time maybe and see if it comes back on it's own. But if it starts to get worse I would do a Lugol's dip at half the recommended dose cause like I said I lost pretty much $100 to this white stuff and currentking has lost some.

I would just keep an eye on it. I would hate to lose such a beautiful ric. Where did you pick it up?
 
Is there any other way to do a lugos dip without having to put 20 drops into a 1gal bucket? Is there a smaller way to do it?

Did you pull it off the rock and then dip it? If so then I would say for sure that it is the intestines.

That is a beautiful ric!! Where did you get it? Do you only have one?
 
I did not pull it off the rock.
I bought here in Pasadena at PTF for $100
came with a tiny baby that I hope survives.
I think its an Indonesian species.

Very Nice. It's probably just the intestines I had a rhodactis start coming off a rock so I pulled it off and you can see some of the intestines coming through the bottom. It should heal up and be fine.
 
It doesnt appear to be melting, and the mouth is not wide open. I hope its just a little stressed. I moved it to a very low flow area and turned off the halides.
 
I had one do something similar a week or so ago. I just left it alone, it looks like it moved a 1/2 inch or so and settled down and now seems to be doing fine. Not sure, maybe somewhere in the supply chain tried to glue it to the rock and that upset it, or something else irritated it.
 
ok now its tearing itself off the rock. For some reason this rock was glued together and the Yuma settled over the glued area.
Im just going to leave it alone and see where it lands I guess.
 
There is a part on the edge that looks like it is loosing its slime layer. You can see it on the right side of the yuma in the picture above. The area looks a little lighter compared to the rest. I did do another stronger Lugo's dip.
 
I have lost many yumas to that almost all of them pinks or pinks of some variety. Each one showed signs of the whole in the center of the foot like where you are seeing the guts. It is some kind of infection that I have tried countless dips fragging etc and nothing has worked. If your lucky it will get better if not once the mouth starts to gap open you will be able to see the rock straight through the mouth out that hole in the foot..... All the ones I have had that showed those signs looked like a donut with a hole in the middle and then started to melt. Hopefully you will have better luck then I.
