Yumma mushroom acting strange/amazing

Ok so my customer sent me this picture of a yumma mushroom she got from me a while back.

We ordered two "blue/orange" yumma mushrooms from a company, she got one for her 14g biocube, and we kept one for our 14g biocube display. I maintain both tanks and are both set up as close to identical as you can get with saltwater (coral placement, rock work, filters, lights, corals, fish, etc...)

She said last week her mushroom started getting elongated tentacles, and I just assumed it might be time to change her bulbs and the mushroom was having to stretch a bit to get more light.

She then sent me this picture, and I'm at a bit of a loss, she says the tentacles in the picture are only out about half way, and at times can get up to an inch long and are stinging the "blue" ricordia mushroom she has close to it.

Anyone have any idea what the mushroom is doing?

I have a friens who's yuma is doing similar things It is aobut 6 inches accross, and has HUGE long tnetacles, other tentacles are bulged up and look almost like bubble tip anemone tentactles. Very cool.

They could be species that are different enough that the new one is fighting for space. Try moving it away and see if it calms down?

Moved it almost a week ago, its now no where near any other coral at all, and its still going crazy <_<

These yumas are amazing I have a purple mushroom with neon green zit lookung like things I. Wonder if its a yuma I will get pics

my yuma does crazy things and forms all differant shapes and tentacle formations this is why i like yuma so much better the florida .florida just seem to sit thier for me my yuma stretches, cones, looks like a bublle tip somtimes, umbrellas and so much more.

i bought a yuma from a guy thyat was feeding it mysis, and the same thing happened to me, i wasnt feeding it and it was used to it so mabey its trying to get food.

stretching out for food or light maybe. I am at a loss....never seen one do that before. Does it get spot feedings? Feed that sucker and see if it calms down. Or leave it because I think it looks kinda cool.

Been feeding it about 3 mysis shrimp a week and it still stretches its tentacles like that. I can't get it to eat any more than that in one sitting, and I'm only there one day a week so I can't quite test the theory of hunger as well as I would like. It's now no where near any other coral as well.
