Zebra and Snowflake Moray

Just wondering if anyone knows if moray eels are compatible with each other. I currently have a Snowflake eel and a blue ribbon eel in a 90 gal tank, and I'm considering adding a Zebra. Will this cause any problems?

Thanks

Wow keeping a blue ribbon eel is tough. Especially feeding.

About the zebra eel. It gets pretty big at around 4ft I think so maybe a bigger tank would be better. Not sure about tankmates though.

as far as as the zebra and snowflake go, I would say you are fine, as long as you upgrade your tank. I have a snowflake now and am waiting for my 300 to be built, in 2 weeks i am going to start looking for the zebra as the tank should arive. Again I will have an 8 foot by 2.5 width footprint to work with thoiugh and will have 350 lbs of live rock along with PVC piping under then sand for them to hide and seperate

Thanks for the info, however I don't see how these eels require a bigger tank, they will have plenty of room to setup there own territories and they all require little swimming room as the never swim, just stick their heads out of rocks once in a while. As long as they are not prone to fight with each other they should be just fine.

Thanks again!

I dont see any problem at all with putting those 2 eels together. They should be fine. THeyre both fairly "nice" as fare as morays go...especially the zebra.

why ask? sopunds like you are set on your opinion anyway. i had a zebra eel in a 240g by himself (my first SW fish) i got rid of the other fish cause i didnt want to cramp him. he was always swimming about moving around checking out who was in lounge room. when a eel moves it wants to really move. when they get a scent you wont see a more active animal out there.

Remember that both snowflakes and Zebra's get as big as a mans arm. They probably do have plenty of room now, but you might not think they all have so much room when they are all full grown.

patchy I agree with you, however, you had only a zebra moray in a 240g? Im not a certified expert, but you can keep more than that in a tank that big, seriously.

i could of but i didnt want to, it was fun watching him roam about the whole tank. his personality changed even better when he was alone. im not saying everyone should do a tank this big for one but that he needs more than a 90g

definitely more than a 90g, but i wouldve put at least one other fish in that tank. in my opinion zebras are a little "boring" as far as morays go. they only really start to act up at night, unless yours was different.

We have our Zebra in a 90 gallon also. Right now it is about 30 inches. He pretty much just stays in the rocks and only gets active when i feed it. In the future i will upgrade the tank to a 300 gallon or so.
