So i purchased 3 zebra dartfish about 2 months ago. I had read they did better in groups and were peaceful fish and didn't have issues with aggression like say firefish.
Well they were all great until recently.. it seem that the last week or 2 one of the dartfish is getting shunned. 2 of them chase one and keep it on 1 side of the tank, if it comes close they chase it back. He doesn't have any damaged fins or anything but it's more just chasing. When i feed everyone seems fine, and if they get scared they all dart into the same den they've always had. They even sleep in the same den at night. But seems like once the lights come on if the outsider comes out of the den it's chased to the other side of the tank.
I believe that 1 of the dartfish is a male, he's a good bit bigger than the others. The 2 that seem to stick togeather both have a more gold/tan head and the jawline has a more dark coloration to it. The one that gets chased may be the smallest (real close to the other little one) but it doesn't have as dark of a gold patch on it's head and it's jaw doesn't have as deep a blue and the black.
Am i going to have to tear the tank apart to get this one out and re-home it or will they eventually figure this stuff out and knock it off?
