ZeeSparrow's 75G LPS tank build

I didn't go today. :/ I hope to be able to get in there tomorrow but the "grand opening" is apparently next weekend so not expecting any great sale prices now. They're open in the new location though.

Today I picked up a couple frags from a lady on CL. Now to try to keep them alive!

I'll be doing a ~20 gallon water change in the morning to bring nitrates down more. It's still above 20 at the moment. Will test and log all numbers after the WC. Hopeful one of the LFS has chaeto available and I'll get that in there and growing. I'll check and log my light schedule too.

I'm just excited to have coral in the tank.

Oh.... The tank the corals came from was infested with GTA. I used coral RX and hydrogen peroxide treatments on all frags. I did not really "drip" acclimate though... A couple small scoops of water changes after a temp acclimation before the treatments. Crossing my fingers that doesn't cause me any issues.

Very cool Zee. I must have spent half an hour yesterday readjusting my circulation pumps for better flow and then just sitting there watching some tiny speck floating around my tank in the flow. It stayed suspended and just went all the way around my rockwork...round and round and round. So that was a good sign. But how sad is it that I was fascinated with a speck of something floating about my tank?

This wait is killing me, so its nice to see your tank with some life in it. Gives me hope. LOL.

All heads of the new corals are open. :)

My current light schedule, based on the light intensity program available on RB, with additional moonlight hours before and after. I've got the max currently set to 30% blues, 25% whites:

Question: As the only coral in my tank are new, should I:

(A) move the coral up and gradually increase lighting 10% per week
(B) increase lighting immediately (to 50-80% blues) and move coral up a little each week
(C) something else

Looking Good!

Thank you!

Boy do I hear you. I still watch specks floating around... it's the only real movement I've got right now.

Fish are close. I can almost smell them. :fish1:

Just stopped by aquatic dreams, they still have quite a bit of set up to do but that is going to be a very cool place! The new owners took time to visit with me the entire time I was there. They have plenty of fun stuff for your sump just waiting for you too :-)

Very cool. Can't wait to see it.
Chaeto I hope!!

Very nice zeesparrow.
I'm in your neck of the woods also. Looking forward to Aquatic Dreams getting up and going. I used to frequent the shop years ago when they were on Pines.
Probably see you locals there :)
