zeo-vit or bio-pellets

I use the Elos Filtra M and LOVE the results. explosive coral growth noticed within the first month. i used about 1/4 the reccomend dosage an ramped it up to the norm. i have friends that use the neo zeo system and have had some great results but beware of the possibility of a cyno outbreak!

I just got my biopelets, I hope they do what they claim to do.

I have two systems running one with Bio-pellets the other with Zeovit and the zeo system has run right past the the pellets both systems were running o readings on both P04 and N03 to start with so I will say Zeovit hands down

Biopellets are only a carbon sorce, Zeovit is a more complete system. you can always use zeovit additives to a biopellet system and it would take less up keep. IMO

I've been using biopellets (ecobak) for about 5 months now. I feel that if you gradually ease into it, you'll end up with much better results. It is not the magic bullet that will rid you of all your problems. Many switch to biopellets and expect immediate results. They fail to realize that it takes several weeks for the bacteria to adjust and multiply to adequate levels for your tank.

I use biopellets in conjunction with microbacter7 and i feel like i've received very good results. Here is a picture of my bluebottle brush. In my old tanks, i have was never able to achieve colors like this. It could be attributed to other factors, but i do feel the use of biopellets makes a difference.

Are you following the recommended use of MB7 or have you found something else? What other factors have you changed that you think may also attribute to the success?

I pretty much use the mb7 according to the instructions. Instead of using biofuel or whatever their carbon carbon source is, I am using the biopellets. I don't think I've done anything else different that could be attributed to better coloration.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but have an honest interest in the logic behind your decision making. My question is WHY?

Why do you want to use either? What is your goal? Because if colorful corals are your goal, then neither Zeovit nor Bio-pellets are necessary. This is NOT to say that they do not offer benefits when used properly, but just to say that colorful corals CAN be grown without spending money on either of these technologies. So that brings me again to the question of what it is you ultimately want?

I've been researching these low nutrient systems in hopes of finding a better or easier way to export N and P. Haven't been too sucessful otherwise. What's your method of doing the same thing without these particular products? Thanks and hope this is not a hijack.

a mag 7 is a strong pump by any means,make sure your input ,out put hoses are connected to the right inputs,it happened to me a couple of times, one with rowa, other with bio pellets,having the in out reversed,will result in reduced tumbling,i have a mag 3 ,250 mg pellets,acceptable tumbling,bac bloom still clearing after 4 days,go slow good luck

So you only use 1/4 liter of pellets in what size reactor? I am thinking I have too much media in there?
