zeomag

Stuff works awesome! I used it when I was running a reactor, just adjust the mag to the level you want to keep, then top off the reactor to specs... From there, it does a great job of maintaining that level...

Same here. Used to always have trouble keeping magnesium where I wanted, but once I added some to my reactor it has maintained the level perfectly.

As folks mentioned, just be sure to not try to raise magnesium with this or any product in a CaCO3/CO2 reactor. The problem is that for every magnesium ion released from the dolomite, 2 units of alkalinity are also released:

MgCO3 ---> Mg++ + CO3--

Consequently, if one wants to raise magnesium by 100 ppm, the alkalinity will necessarily rise by 8.2 meq/L (23 dKH). The only way around this problem is to add a mineral acid (not vinegar) to the aquarium to reduce the alkalinity, and that may be more problematic than just adding magnesium in the first place.

I started using it in my reactor a year ago and rarely have to add mag supplement to keep my level at 1300. I only use 10% of it in my total media for the reactor. My alk has always stayed between 7 and 8 dhk.
