Hello, and welcome to my journey!

I hope you will enjoy it, since i surely will! :bounce3:

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Design

My design of this reef is (very) inspirated by one of the best Tanks around here, "A Reef in the Sky" As you will see, the Design is almost identical, but with a few changes, one of them is the size!

Inhabitants and Goals

This system will house SPS with a few LPS and some fish...
A want to have list will come later!
The system will be based around the Zeovit method, as i find the effects well beyond any other product out there!

The goal is to create a reef where both corals, fish and other reef living animals will thrive, while beeing pleasing to the eye!

I hope you will follow my journey, and i'm looking forward to share my experiences and progress with all of you!

Display

The Display tank will be:
Rimless
12mm (1/2") Three side Low iron

It's a bit larger than that, but just so you see the walls...

Skimmer

Skimmer will be a "DIY" skimmer well overrated for the system.
Cone
Large, maybe for up to 2000L
Nice cup size.

Pic of it in the "sump"

Lights

Lights will be LED "DIY"

Small good looking
Each has 35 LEDs
Fully controllable with lightning, storms, clouds, etc.
Intergrated Controller

Led Complete 2.jpg

Flow

Flow will be created by 2x vortech mp40 and one returnpump, Laguna 6000 (for fragtank too), will be some flow :fun2:

ZeoReactor

Zeoreactor isnt chosen yet, but it leans against building my own for starters, and later getting the KZ Easy Lift S

Hopefully thats all. More Pics in Next post!

Now to the Full Setup!!!

Next step was to get rid of all the stuff where the tank will be...

Ok to the want to have / planned fishlist...

I know some of them are hard, especially with feeding. That problem will be solved by growing and raising own cultures of copepods, artemia, phytoplankton and rotifiers.

To the list!
Anampses Femininus. May be hard to get to eat, but eats from Liverock, and the cultured food...
5fc161fd-15be-1a2b.jpg

Pygoplites Diacanthus, may pick on LPS, rarely picks on SPS...
5fc161fd-1670-67b3.jpg

Macropharyngodon Bipartitus, same as the femininus, poor shipper.
5fc161fd-1721-1d53.jpg

Acanthurus Japonicus, may be Aggressive against other fish, best kept with a shoal of small fish(Will do)

More will come...v

Ok, some more.

Centropyge Potteri, may nip at SPS.
5fc806ef-1a53-4267.jpg

Zoramia Leptachantus, will be kept in a shoal of 20. By recommendation.
5fc806ef-1a90-196e.jpg

Amphiron Percula, pair. Hopefully onyx.
5fc806ef-1b70-ddd5.jpg

Signigobius Bioccelatus, pair. Eats from sand.

Elactinius Multifasciatus.

That's it, this tank will be well stocked, but heavily skimmed, the Zeovit will help too!

I'd be worried about some of the fish choices, the tang and maybe the angel (not sure on that one) is probably going to need more room. I'd be worries about the Anampses Femininus jumping in a rimless tank, I'd hate to see and expensive fish like that end up as carpet jerky (not that I like to see that happen to ANY fish).

The tang, stays quite small, and will have plenty of space. The angel may be an issue, but probably not, as it stays quite small to...

The Femininus and Bipartitus are possible jumpers (but are the least "probable" jumping Wrasses), and if they jump it's often caused by stress and such... (If it don't work, ill just make some kind of netting at the top, it's possible to make an "invisible" top)

Thank you for dropping in, hope you come back:wave:

The "small tang" gets to around 8". I have the same size tank as you and an eight inch tang would not look right in it IMO.

I wouldn't put any nippers in your tank. I just got done getting a flame angel out of mine and I'm already seeing better PE.

Sweet setup! Seems like the only flaw would be the Capital in the species name and no italics :D

j/k

Well, it's the same size as a yellow tang will get... And i don't think it looks too bad with a "Large" yellow tang in a 100g...

If you look at SunnyX 100g it doesnt look to bad, and he got one sohal and one yellow...

Everyone's got different taste! =D

Thanks for looking in!

Well, i hope to get some that doesnt nip =P And the potteri and the Regal are two beautiful fishes =D

One thing i learned the other day, is that most nippers does that because of stress.

The Regal is mostly prone to nip at LPS (very few nip at SPS, from what i've heard)
The Potteri is maybe a 50/50 chanse to not get a nipper...

Thanks for looking in!
