I'm so happy this hasn't turned into a zeo bashing thread (and keep it that way!)

I don't have first hand experience with zeovit, but an experienced reef keeper that I know uses it and says he'll never go back to a 'normal' method. His parameters are perfect and his coral colors are awesome (with a noticeable improvement when you look at before and after shots using zeo).

People who bash zeo are either uneducated, have no experience with it, used it improperly, bias, jealous or just bash it for the sake of bashing it. I have never seen anyone that has used zeo properly and complain about it.

Just so were straight here i"m not a Zeo hater, I find it very intriguing and I'm still thinking about it for my propagation setup. That's why I ask about corals grown in zeo and how they fair in the conversion to a non zeo system.I still believe it''s for the serious reefer and most newbies are in dier need of education on how to use a test kit before they jump into zeo. This hobby is very technical and IMO zeo adds more need for attention.
And as for me making claims that systems are solely crashing because of zeo, is not what I said although in 7 years I've never seen a swing like that but thats just me. When other people ask me my opinion or if I'm stating my opinion I believe I have the right to call it like I see it.
now please lets stop with the bs and let me learn from this open form ':fun5:'

But anyway, I guess my main issue was with the term 'crash'. The tank never crashed. It just went into an easily remedied imbalance.

it turned brownish from its gold-green colour. Something had changed/oxidized. I tried dosing it to see if the change was problematic, but my anemonies started to shrivel-up, so I just tossed it. The stuff is expensive at â"šÂ¬100 pro litre. I had kept it cool in a cupboard, but we did have a hot Summer.

One knew it was just a misunderstanding:uzi: :bounce2: :lol: :fish2: :love2: :worried: Anyway, the story of the sudden Alk shift brough back a rather unpleasant memory. Another LFS I knew had a similar problem that almost crashed the tank and it turned out a customer had dumped something into the tank! (apparently intentional! but who knows) Well, it damaged the tank severely.

I had an Alk spike a few months ago after I had cleaned and refurbished my reactor and the increased efficiency raise the Alk to 14 dKH in a few days with the Ca+ over 500. I've only just got this back into proper parameters. I didn't loose any corals, however, they just stopped growing. After getting it back to about 9-10 dKH I noticed growth jumping in. I didn't add anything new during this time, either, as the shock may have RTNed 'em.

Check out this reef to see a tank that has been running Zeo for a few years. 177 fotos over three years. Earliest are last in the list. Very impressive corals with many choice speciments. Wish my tank were this far. It's like a candy store for coral addicts.
