Zeovit

I have been on full Zeo now for about 6 weeks

Einsteins, just 6 weeks and your corals look like that! I've been on Zeo for 12 weeks and my corals look like crap. They are light and pale with little to know PE. I'm using Coral Pro salt but I'm considering a switch to Seachem. I'm getting a film on the glass that I have to clean almost every day. Also, I can not win the battle with the HA that I have. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My dosing is:

Zeobac: 5 drops 2x a week
Zeofood: 1 drop 2x a week
ZeoStart2: 0.3 ml 2x a day
Coral Snow: 4ml 2 x weekly

Einsteins, if I may ask, what did your corals look like before starting zeo? With you still in stage one, I would guess you had those colors before, maybe they pop a little more, but I just do not want to have the wrong idea.

I am using fauna marin ultralith, and am happy with the results so far. I do think you have some amazing pieces there, and awesome photgraphy skills. But I would love to see some pics from 8 weeks ago, and then the new pics to compare and see if there is a difference in color. Thanks for sharing,

Thanks everyone...

Newsalt:

My tank is also a 120 with 131 gallons net.
Here is what I am dosing...but again your tank parameters/nutrient levels are most likely different than mine.

Zeobac: 4 drops every other day
Zeofood: 2 drop every other day
ZeoStart2: 0.15 ml 2x a day
Coral Snow: occasionally but not on a scheduled basis.

Talk to the guys in the Zeo forums...some tanks take 6 months to finally leech all of the nutrients/po4's out of the substrate and Live rock.
Take your time and dont rush it, those who use it properly and allow it time to work are the ones who see the maximum benefits from the Zeo system.

Muzz
Let me dig around...I'll see what I can find for older pics for you.

Take care all....

I recognize some of these names from the Zeo board. Here are some pics of my tank Zeo 11 weeks.

so if I don't want to go full blown zeo what can I use from zeovit that can help out some of my colors.

amino acids, coral vitalizer, sponge power, coral snow, b-balance, etc and etc. Most things you can use without full ZEO. Their effects, however, will not be as drastic.

you can use any of the KZ Zeovit products if you feel you have the need for them.

KOA79 tell me about your tank what is the problem with your colors are they too dark or too light?

their not that bad tank is kind of new less then a year old. started with nothing but frag size pices. I have had a bad alk swing (it didn't kill anything but it didn't help much)lol things are starting to color up again. here's a pic of some of them (not the best pic)

I'm finishing my first week of running full ZEO. Things are progressing nicely along. Here's hoping things don't make a 180.

I think I'll post some photos later.

If you have HA then you have P04. With P04 at high enough levels to support HA you cant expect SPS to look like einsteins, or others posting here.

Einstein is right, give Zeo time to lower your nutrients.

If you have HA then you have P04.

Just check PO4 this morning. It's 0.03 Hanna. I thought that was pretty good. My problem with the HA is that some of it is sticking to the corals and hard to get off. I'm afraid it will suffocate the coral.

What about bryopsis in Zeo tanks? Is magnesium dosing necessary to kill it with a Zeo tank, or should the ULN take care of it? Would high dosing of magnesium cause huge alk and pH problems in ZEO systems? I am considering a system like Zedar's, but I first have to deal with the bryopsis.

What about bryopsis in Zeo tanks?

There's at least one person on the zeo forum who treated his bryopsis with high mg, and nothing bad happened to his tank (the treatment worked). I recommended posting over there and ask people about that treament

The p04 is in the rock, substrate etc.

In time, carbon dosing will pull it out of the rock and HA will be a thing of the past.

Ok folks I purchased three Brightwell products last night.

Koralcolor $9
Coral snow $5
Reef Biofuel $5

Koralcolor

Suppose to intensify the Biochromes  in the coral. Time will tell.

Reef biofuel

Replaces v/s/v

The price is certainly right. I dont think this stuff is as concentrated as the KZ products. So they may not be as cost effective as they at first appear to be. They may not work that well either :)

Ill let everyone know what i find.

Zed the Guinea Pig :)

Yea let me know about those Brightwell products zedar, I liked their AA's my LFS carries alot of their stuff so if they work well maybe I will switch to save on the shipping costs and the weak dollar.

As for my tank things are moving along quite nice, no more brown diatoms since i switched to straight V dosing. ALthough I have noticed some green turf algae that accumulates sometimes after doising coral snow or phols extra on the substrate, this could also be some po4 leeching as well. ANy how still adjusting doses and things to make the right combo and get the popping colors. Will try and get some photos up one day soon.

did a water change, first in 3 weeks today just 5g i will change 5g again tomorrow.

took a couple quick top downs while the pumps were off, excuse the algae it is much more work to clean a dirty acrylic tank than glass and i just got home last night...

Coral snow $5
Is this the same as the KZ CS or is it different? Just curious really.

Would you mind posting what it will cost you per dose of their products versus KZ?

brightwell coral snow is a coral food, Pohls coral snow is a water purification/ "biological Facilitator" product.
