i am a newbie getting into SPS. Reading this thread makes my heart sink. i was already thinking this is a very involved hobby (which if fine) but now adding the zeovit complexity into the mix just makes my head explode. But then i get solace from all the TOTM where people dont use this system and get amazing colors. And that is what i my ultimate goal would be. So i still scratch my head as to why so many people are getting desperate and making life so complicated?

From my point of view, its really not that much more challenging that the standard reefkeeping. Yes, you do have to be very vigilant to ensure that water parameters are stable, but I doubt you would find a single highly successful reef, TOTM style, that has anything but impeccably stable water quality and an intense husbandry style.
I actually find some comfort in my tank improving everyday, and not have to worry about refugiums, P04 reactors, UV, ozone and the likes.

With KZ use you actually have the ability to control the factors that effect the coloration of the corals and biological environment they live in.
I think I speak for all of us who have chosen to use this type of method, in saying that we all agree that it is NOT for everyone who wants to keep a reef tank.

Agreed, by tearing down my hang on refgium, disabling my UV, not having to buy po4 media or the extra light over the refugium I not only cheapened my electric bill but also saved $ from the stuff I needed to buy in order to keep the tank going, which means money for coral/fish. Any method you choose has benefits and challenges. The hobo zeo method others and I am doing is working but probably at a much slower speed than full zeo.
My water is super clear, odorless and it really only takes about 5 seconds to dose the tank with the supplements. I even do less water changes now, aiming for one change a month and then maybe one every 2 months.
The supps are a bit costly but depending on your bio load they in fact last a long time when only addined a few drops every day or every other day.
But the most important thing is stability among your water params!

The Zeovit product seems to improve the corals alot. I am using Prodibio and I have considered switching to Zeovit. I just received my second installment of BioClean - Prodibio and a new oversized Optopus Pro 250. If after completing the 2nd installment, I will consider switching to Zeovit.

I will mixed the v/s/v solution. I am currently using Prodibio until it runs out. The stuff really works. I am willing to try the v/s/v with Prodibio BioBact
TOTM use a mixture of Prodibio and Zeovit. I want colors like his tank.
I have notice that algea apprears after I add the ReefBoost which is a AA or food for the corals.
I have stopped using it and have dose a about 3ml of Seachem AA once a week. I notice a slight green algae on the glass a day after dosing.

Just added a liter of the Seachem De*Nitrate to my sump to remove some nitrate build up that hasn't seem to go down using the Matrix, Stability and V-dosing. I am sitting at about 10ppm so we will see if this stuff levels off to 0 in the next week. This will give me a bit more flexibility to dose my AA's and Zeo supps. PO4 is a thing of the past I think, still a little leeching going on but I added some grazers to take care of that. Now time to sit baack and watch the corals color and grow, amybe adda few new clams and corals when I get the $$$$.

I read a lot of the pages in this thread, and I missed the suggestied dosis of v/s/v, sorry for that but is 31 pages.
I am on zeovit for more than a year with excellent results, but I liive in Mexico and the costs for the additives are becoming prohibitive, and I would like to try this method.

Here is the link we were using to make the v/s/v mix. We were doubling all the coses to have a larger batch to cut down on constant mixing. Be careful when dosing go real slow. ALso if you get any brown diatoms on your glass or algae break out you will want to lower the sugar and vinegar componenets. Good luck.

I've been dosing straight vodka to the tank (~2 ml) per day since March and I've seen some great results. My tank was setup with dead rock, so I know I had some leeching but I cooked the rocks for 2 months first.
I have started the v/s/v method this past week and I haven't seen any changes in the tank, but that doesn't mean that things aren't work like they should. I re-aquascaped this past weekend to get ready for some EXPLOSIVE growth.
I placed an order for some zeo supplements and I plan on buying some stability to boost my bac levels.
Here is what I ordered:
1 x ZEOvit Pohl's Coral Vitalizer 50 ml
1 x ZEOvit Sponge Power 50 ml
1 x ZEOvit Amino Acids High Concentrate 50ml
1 x ZEOvit PotassiumIodide Fluoride 50ml
1 x ZEOvit Iron Concentrate 50ml
1 x ZEOvit ZEOSpur2 250ml
1 x ZEOvit KZZ Coral Snow 250ml
I'm re-reading the zeo guide, b/c it has some great info in it (general).
