Zoa came off base

Recently purchased a zoa frag. It was doing great and seemed to like where I put it. This morning it had come off its base and is floating around tank like a tumbleweed. How do I reattach it?

How many polyps? If more that one, you can use a rubberband to lightly attach it back to the plug/rock. Or, if there is some rock/plug on the base of the frag you can use super glue gel to reattach it.

There's prob about 8 or 10. There's nothing attached to it at all. So maybe the rubberband?
Yep, I would try the rubberband.

Another option would be to place a small/shallow bowl on the bottom of the tank, put a layer of crushed coral (or similar) in the bowl, place the frag in and cover with some type of netting until the frag attaches to the crushed coral. Then, you can glue it wherever you want using super glue gel.

I really struggle with single polyps on some of my smaller zoas because either my eyes aren't good enough anymore, or my fingers are too fidgety but I always do the glue method.

here are some examples of single polyps I recently glued down. they're tough animals. I like to cut the polyps, set them on a paper towel, dab the glue to the rock or frag for a second, then place the polyp (hopefully right side up....) on the dab of glue. This time my polyps spend out of the water, and drying off on the paper towel, usually leads to a better finished frag and less handling over all. those frags in the picture were mostly open within hours of being cut, dried, glued, and placed in their new tank.

my old way was sloppy because I was so afraid of taking them out of the water, it resulted in a lot more handling and a much longer recovery time for the zoa...
