Zoa Color Changing?

So I got this polyp one week ago, and when I got it it was kind of a light blue, In one week it has morphed a little bit, mostly got darker, and has some lighter "specks" (best way I can describe them). I know it is normal for Zoas to change color under different lighting. My question is, do ALL Zoas change to some extent? If so how long does it usually take for them to change into their final color form?

Here is the Polyp 1 week ago

And here it is today:

It seems to have gotten darker.

I don't think there is a definitive answer to your question. Lighting, flow, parameters all play a factor in coloration. Hope this helps. I have some that if you place low in the tank get darker coloration but when higher in light get specks.

I would say it took at least a couple of months before mine came back to/or better than what they were when I bought them.

Cool, thanks.

BTW Awesome Tail-Spot Blenny. Is it yours? I wan't to get one, but Live Aquaria always seems to be sold out, and I haven't found it for sale anywhere else. Did you get it from them? I noticed your in Rhinelander, do they allow Local Pickup? Not that im local, but just curious.

I believe I just hijacked my own thread :D

 Yeah, that is a tailspot blenny. I have had it since August. I did get it from Foster & Smith's retail store. They are a funny little fish. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I guess I walked away and forgot to check back. Left myself logged into this page all night!
