Zoa Nudibranch?

Hi Everyone,

I was cruising thru the archives but after a while all the nudibranches look the same. Narrow it down to three: Zoa, Monti, or Berghia (if i'm that lucky).

Can someone assist please?

Thank you.

not berghia.

if you have zoas or montis, it looks like it could be one of them. zoa eaters usually match the colors of the colony. check in between your polyps and on the underside of the polyps. on montis, check the underside of the coral. my orange cap was white underneath and the monti nudis were white. my zoas were purple and the zoa nudis matched the purple exactly.

Thank you Bobby, upon closer inspection some of my Zoas seemed damaged. I think I found a pile of eggs. Removed that too, hopefully not a huge outbreak.

fresh water dip (3min.) the zoas every three days for a while. (temp. and ph matched, dechlorinated or RO/DI) If they are in quarantine throw in a few camel shrimp and you will only need three dips to beat them. good luck

Thanks for the tip. I've been using coral rx and they've been falling off. I'll try fresh dip on some of the more damaged zoas.

The coral rx works great on flat worms and other stuff but does not kill the zoa nudis, only stuns them. Fresh kills nudis and spiders in like a min or two and the zoas could care less. Actually I find the shorter freshwater dip to **** them off less than the rx. Don't forget to shake vigorously before taking them out. Every other type of coral on the other hand... don't use fresh. :)
