I'm a noob so before I spend too much time and effort babying what may turn out to be a frag of aptasia, I thought I'd get a 2nd opinion. They look the same but came from different places.
I chiseled out some from a mushroom rock that was in the tank already - it was a group of 3 that hadn't changed in 2 yrs - probably because they were surrounded by those mushrooms.
The other 2 came attached to a $5 frag of some type of hard coral bought a couple of months ago.
1st 2 pics are the same polyps. 3rd pic is on a different piece of skeleton and the one exhibiting weird symptoms. They'd been mounted like this for about 2 weeks already. I saw a few places online where that inside-out look was blamed on a zoa spider but I couldn't see anything like that.
