I think I have an outbreak of this in my tank. I have about 4-5 rocks about half the size of a baseball to a full baseball sized, covered in various types of zooanthids. Some are opening up and some aren't. I noticed on some of the shafts of the individual polyps are some white splotches. I will try to get soem decent pics, but everyone I attmepted to take last night didn't turn out. If it is indeed zoa pox, what can I do to get rid of this problem.
Thanks for the help.

I have also found that a stable tank temp helps prevent pox & helps them to recover. If I get pox I normally leave to their own devices and they recover. I have never used Furan-II as (1( its illegal in the uk and slightly concerned by the caveat on the packaging ""Carcinogenesis : Nitrofurazone, an active ingredient oF Fauran-2 has been shown to produce mammary tumors in rats and ovarian tumor in mice. Some people maybe hypersensitive to this product. Either wear gloves when dosing or wash hands afterwards" and (2) have heard its rather harsh on the zoa's, which causes more stress, being one of the main causes for pox.

My tank temp usually holds constant around 79.7- 80 degrees. Some polyps open, some remain closed. They were all doing very well, I added a tunze 9002 skimmer, and after that they seemed to start closing, coincidence? or is there something else? Like i said i see these little white spots on the polyp stalks and assume that is what it is. It looks very similar to the pictures on zoaid.com. I will try to get some better pictures tonight, but i don't have a fancy camera so i will do the best i can. Thanks
