Hello everyone!
My tank is only 4 months old and I aquired some zoa frags just over one month ago--the biggest colony (Eagle Eyes) has about 12-15 polyps. They have all been open and looking well until 2 days ago when I noticed a few of the Eagle eyes polyps were shut. As there were a couple of white specks on some polyps I decided to do a freshwater dip but nothing came out...so I had a poke around the bases of the polyps with a toothpick and---yikes----pulled out two spiders!!!! :eek1: I had a good rummage round and as far as I can tell there weren't any more....
That colony is now in a QT but I'm not too sure how to look after it on its own in there--its just a small 40 litre all-in-one beginner's tank with a built-in filter and a light in the hood. Should I put in a maxi-jet or soemthing to provide soem more flow? Should i feed it phyto and how often? Also how often should I go on a spider hunt and poke around with my toothpick??? I don't know if there's any point doing more FW dips as the spiders didn't actually fall out when I did that--I wouldn't have known they were there if I hadn't doen the thing with the tooth-pick...
Also, as the other colonies, which are much smaller (both in number of polyps and size of polyps) seem fine, can I leave them in the main tank for the time being or should they go in the QT also? I'm hoping I've caught this early and so will avoid a plague....
Thanks for any help you can give!!!
