I just got some new Zoa's and i wanted to know if you can get hurt by touching them? I do wear 5mm driver glove when moving them. But its better to be safe then in the hospital.
Ive been sick several times from careless fragging...nothing serious, just nausea and headaches.....once for a couple of days
its always better dafe than sorry. eye protection and gloves a good idea.
The worst I got sick was from some palys.......by far the worst pain ive ever felt was from a large hot pink yuma and i wasnt even cutting it........I was just moving it and had a cut on my hand. holly crap that time hurt and throbbed for hours
I never use gloves & do not believe I am extra sensitive to their toxin. I have gotten some into a few cuts that look kinda gross for a few days & 2x my eye has gone crusty for a couple of days, even after washing my hands 3x. I need my long nails for fraging though!
im with puffer on this one. i never wear gloves, they are awkward but im cautious to not cause much trauma to the zoas if not needed and make sure that i dont touch my eyes, mouth or nose until i wash my hands. its worked for me so far.
be safe
LOL, I like to touch things--even in the ocean (very gently though). Can't tell you how many times I've accidently brushed up against fire coral... Love to play with the octopus at night too!
