One of my small zoanthid colonies was doing pretty well in my tank until I increased my flow and moved them into a little more light. Half the colony is getting some direct 150w halide light (fairly low in tank) whereas the other half is shaded by a rock overhang.
Some polyps are remaining mostly closed (one all the time), and these are in the light.
One or two are opening so far that they look to be bulging (tentacles almost pointing down) - these are in the shade. Are such extremes possible with the issue of a little too much and a bit too little light? Could it be a problem other than light?
