we did this on another board and it worked out well. i was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing it within the club.
what you do is get 5-10 people together and everyone throws down X number of dollars, and the group decides what kind of fancy overpriced named zoanthid/paly they want to buy. i think the zoas they ordered were like $80 a polyp. when the frag arrives, one (trustworthy) member keeps the frag in their tank to grow out, and when enough polyps are grown, they are fragged and then given to each investor. (i think they did 2 polyps per person, with the grower keeping four for his efforts.) it takes time, but if we could get enough people together and get everyone to agree on throwing down, say, $50, then we could order a few different really nice zoas/palys and have them all growing out so the payout is a little bigger.
