Zoanthid trades local

this is where Polkman says to himself..."let me just get that one zoanthid, it looked super cool and it's just one frag, i have to have it..."

and BAM!!!!, welcome to zoa addiction =)

man, after googling images of the zoas you guys are talking about, mine feels so bland....lol

At first I really wanted alot of LPS then I got my first darth maul now I am hooked. I got some really nice zoas from petco . I dipped them for so long that I almost killed them! Petco has some nice hiding things but it's like swimming in a pool of hookers with HIV.

uploadfromtaptalk1447205071370.jpg 2 polyps of darth mauls in the back of the tank. I'll put a 2 month update layer on.

Yes some of them do look like eagle eyes. But there are also some with three different colors and then the ones with orange in the middle I'll get a better picture tomorrow when the lights are actually on.

I have some nuke greens, eagle eye, and green bay packers i think i wished i knew how to frag. Maybe that will be my next step in the saltwater hobby ill take some pics when i turn my tank on tomorrow.

Copying and pasting from an interview i remembered reading a while back, i had the same question, and this interview sort of answered it for me.

AquaNerd: Any special methods that you see the polyps growing best at?
ReefKoi "œWell I've found that letting them grow to 12+ heads before re-fragging makes them grow faster, more aggressive fragging results in smaller babies and smaller adult polyps which is why a lot of high end polyps are sold as tiny single head frags I think. My 45 degree egg crate work well because the detritus can't settle as easily on the polyps because of the angle, this idea has only been in use here for about 6-12 months so we are still deciding if it's any better for growth. Regardless the frags look great on it and do grow off the plugs regularly."

I'm starting to think zoas grow faster when they are sideways! Is anyone on this train of thought ?

I know you said for trade, but I'd be willing to buy some Zoas from anyone here if they're selling for a good price. Actually not limited to Zoas. Open to mushrooms, plays, frogspawn, etc. Brand new to the whole aquarium scene and literally bought my first two Zoas a few days ago. Looking to fill more in my tank. Anyone? Anyone?

I don't have enough to sell and we'll the thread got my interest because I'd the word trade sorry bud but I can't. Give me a few months till my frags grow.

I have wwc Pandoras, and wwc space monsters already fragged. I can frag my bbeb, scrambled eggs, bam bams, mind blowing pallys, and maybe others I need to go look at. I really like zoas and also looking for different stuff.
