Hey there so my tank info is in the sig, water parameters are all in check, lighting is about 8-10 hours with 2 more hours of actinc so 6-8 hours of 10,000k, anyways i properly aclimated my new colony of ultra zoos, nuclear greem some orange heads and yellow rimed heads as well, they opened up great and all is well,

this morning i notice a bud with like two very very small heads on it, sitting on my sand floor hah? is this natural for how they spread? im quite intrigued that reproduction would be provoked so early, perhaps by fluke and they were ready at the lfs, or the much less exciting possibility, can a small scarelt or blue leg hermit knock these guys off?

They could have detached due to not setting properly when glued. As well they could have been knocked off. Have you checked the frag plugs for missing heads?

heres a picture

had zoanthids in my tank for over a year now. they sometimes do this. im guessing its completely natural for them. just actually had a new frag do it. He detacted a 3 polyp part and was on the sand. some glue and a little care and it became the newest frag. best of luck with it.

oh and thanks for the pictures

No problem, sorry the quality isnt great haha, but i appreciate the heads up, any special care besides good lighting and moderate flow these guys need? and should i glue him to that piece of rock or will he be okay wherever he lands?

I have had this happen to me before as well, no big deal. I usually try and attach them because if you leave it alone chances are it will disapear into your tank never to be seen again.
