Zoanthids freaking out, what's wrong?

What is wrote g with these zoanthids. All parameters are great. A lot of other corals, clams, inverts, etc. that are much more sensitive are unaffected. First thought was predation by heraldi angel, but haven't seen anything and no other signs on other corals.

Any thoughts?

Look for these:

dc_nudibranch.jpg

zoo eating nudibranch.

freshwater dip with coralrx and then get a wrasse in there to take care of the eggs once they hatch.

They have been like that for two weeks now. This makes me think something more than just a hermit. I haven't seen nudibranchs but will look. What kind of wrasse? Six line?

I would remove the angel ASAP.
I don't recommend angels nor butterflies in a zoa tank.
They can be fine for months and one day BOOOM!
I also don't recommend hermits, but don't think the problem comes from hermits because you would see them on the polyps.
Please post the numbers of all parameters that you have checked, so people could try to help you out.
Look for predators at night, like nudibranchs, spiders, snails...

Parameters are as follows.

daytime pH 8.2
nighttime pH ? (This is a maintenance account in a dentists office)
dKH 10
Ammonia 0
Nitirite 0
Nitrate 5-10
Magnesium 1450

Lighting 6 bulk t5 with (2 blue +, 2 purple+, 2 coral+)
PAR at zoanthids (~300)

Other photosynthetic animals

10 inch derasa
Hollywood stunner chalice
Wellsophylia green
Kenya tree
Sarcophyton toadstool
Green Star polyps
Green torch
Purple and green hammer
Candy caulastrea
Various mushrooms
Green bubble coral
Small rose bubble tip anemone

Fish and inverts
Scarlet hermits 10
Astrea snails 10
Small purple tang
Pair neon gobies
Red honey chromis 10
Trio true percs
Trio lamarks angels
Heraldi angel
Skunk cleaner shrimp 2
Blood red cleaner 2

Tank is 150 gallon flat back hex. Dual sump with skimmer and calcium reactor all made by Bermuda Aquatics. Flow by to hydor koralia about 1500 gph each.

Hope this helps. Seemed very strange to me all around. Haven't seen any potential predators, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Zoas do this sometimes for a week or so for no apparent reason, but this has been almost 3 weeks now and still like this.

Someone suggested adding a wrasse to eradicate any nudibranchs. What type? I use six lines a lot in my personal and maintenance accounts for planarian control would they work?

Going to try to catch dwarf angels out, especially heraldi. Haven't seen it eat at them, just browse algae and stuff on rocks, but he is the likely vertebrate culprit if this is the issue.

Thanks for all the help.

The angel and the hermits are my first suggestions.
You'll need to see if there are predators at night, that's second. If you can't get in the office, you'll be gambling. Sorry.
Sweeper tentacles from the near corals. Also at night.
Those would be the first 3 suggestions.
The use of GFO could do that too.
Good luck!

Grandis.

No GFO use. No sweepers from other corals coup get near. I will keep my eyes out for predators and hopefully something rears its ugly head.

Moved them and they are looking a bit better. Opening at least but still look beat up. I ended up having to trap angels too after they decided to start chowing down on open brain corals. Hopefully they will fully recover.
