Yes, its mine. Its a 20 long, I made the hood myself, it holds one 250wt 20k MH mogal bulb with a 6 inch fan to keep it cool. I have 2 ten gallon tanks side by side with a siphon from one to the other, the water goes from the overflow in the 20long to the back tank which has a basic protien skimmer in it and some sand I got from the beach(shhh). It than goes into the other 10 gallon tank via the overflow siphon tube and I have some leftover fiji rock in that with hermit crabs that get to big for the main tank(little bulldozers), It then gets pumped back up with a 800 gph pump. Any more and it overflows the tank. I do have the hood for one of the ten gallons turned 90degrees so one bulb is over one tank and one over the other. Its cheep, The temp in the summer gets to 85 and todays it 83. I cant afford a chiller. And I cant argue with the results heat dosnt seem to bother the zoos that I have.
Very cool! I would recommend filling a two litter soda bottle with water and putting it in your freezer, than putting it in your sump when the tank reaches 82. It lasts a couple of hours and works great. I can't afford a chiller either so i'm stuck using this method.
Looks great. I was considering 20Ks for a 75 gallon tank. Was afraid it would be too blue, but your tank looks good. Plenty bright. More light then I would have expected for a 20 gallon. 12" deep right?
I think I caught in another thread that you dive for your zoa. And now you get your sand there too. Man it must be good..
Wow i have never seen a serious Zoa tank like that! are there any other corals in the tank? I think i may have spotted a mushroom (but most likely a formation of zoas, lol) Awsome aquascaping. Post some pics so we can really see some color out of them.
No mushrooms, just zoos, I am looking for yellow motipora with purple rim, but havnt found it yet.
As for the sand, I get the sand for the two 10 gallons from the beach, But the sand in the main tank is Bahama's fine grain. I have some pics of each of the zoos in another post.
The only zoos I bought are the bright yellow ones, the rest came off the seawall
Thanks Greg
