Zoanthus gigantus Question for those in the Know

I was under the impression that Zoanthus gigantus were all PE zoas. It was stated in my ID thread on another forum that many of what we call palys are in fact Zoanthus gigantus. I've googled and checked the Zoanthus gigantus thread on ZoaID (which appears to be all PE) and I can't find any confirmed Zoanthus gigantus which are not PE zoas. Does anyone know if there are non PE zoas that are confirmed via DNA as Zoanthus gigantus? Thanks

It is a scientific name VS a made up name. You are correct in the differnece in palyathoa and zoanthus gigantus. As far as DNA I would have no clue on checking. good luck on your quest!
