........ and what if whatever is wrong in your tank tips even further out of balance and nukes the rest of your corals because you didn't deal with it when it was just the zoas? Corals looking bad in a tank is a warning sign, ignore it at your own peril.
Well If I have no idea whats wrong how do I fix the problem? Everything I can test for is in check. My husbandry has been perfect for the most part. Everything else is growing rapidly and showing great pe and color. I think they just got sick past the loint of no return. Some are looking slightly better but not much.

Very strange. Perhaps a nudibranch? Pox? Maybe something is making them sick. Have you considered taking them out and putting in quarantine to see what happens?

Yea, I would frag a colony piece and place it in a small tank and see if acts any different. My best guess would be some kind of chemical warfare. It sounds like you have tried everything and found no pests. Also some people say that the little stars can eat live polyps.

Im new to this hobby and just got my first frag a month ago, but I have tried a number of different things with lighting and flow just to see what makes zoas tick. Im amazed at how just turning down the flow a little bit makes a world of difference. Perhaps things just arent the same as with your smaller tank. Im sure you have tried fooling around with flow and lighting, maybe intenisty is too high for zoas, just a suggestion, Im sure you know a heck of alot more than me about this, good luck buddy

whats funny about zoa's and paly's is that what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. i have zoas in basic shade that grow well and some sitting at the same level as my light hungry acropora. some are in the lowest flow area and some are getting moved by the flow all day.
the only thing i found that works for what i keep is to move things that don't look happy and i watch my parameters very regularly especially my alkalinity.
