:bum: Hi,
I have a ? do zoas detach themselves from a rock they were on and go to a diffrent rock. Only reason im asking is I had 8 poloyps on a piece of rock,I found 2 moved about 5 inches to another rock,thanks.

I think "detach" isn't the right word to use... it's more like they "crawl" over to another surface... I've seen the same thing happen with some of the cloves that I have in my tank.
 
Yes they can move. Almost all soft corals like zoas and xenia will move if they need more light or more flow. They will also move to get away if there is too much flow on them.

Absolutely positive. I have seen many many zoas do this.
 
That's awesome. I guess it makes sense if mushrooms and other softies can, not sure why I assumed zoas didn't.
 
Wow thats cool I thought my damsels where eating them and spitting them out was going to dump the damsels lol thanks again all
 
you can really see it if they open next to a rock... lots of times they will stretch above it and then move over so they dont have to stretch so far
