Zoathid Impact Resistance?

So...funny story...I took my Zoa's out to do a little FW dip to try to figure out what was bugging them, and while I had them out of the tank I decided to trim the tube/plug they were on so I could put them in my rocks...

Well...when you try to cut a 1/2" long piece of rigid airline tubing with wire cutters, it's inevitable that both ends go flying...but I didn't think about that. My Zoa frag (on which 3 polyps were finally starting to open a teensy bit...) flew across the room and smashed into a wall.

Needless to say the polyps are looking a little flat, and i may be crazy, but they look a little bruised as well. What are the odds that they survive this mishap? Should I be expecting the worst?

I have "crushed" zoas under live rock in the tank. They looked flat for a day or so. I don't know about outta the water though. I think they will be OK. That's only a guess though. They few that has opened is a good sign.

I've dropped zoas more than a few times while fragging them (usually onto carpet). And I've dropped more than a few rocks on them in the tank. They always bounce back just fine.

They haven't been open yet since the incident...they were seemingly getting comfortable in my tank before this, so i was moving them to a more permanent location . i guess we wait and see.

LOL...one single polyp is starting to open up a little bit...just a small gap at the end. Guess they can take being flung into the wall at 9,000 mph.
