ok so i bough a very preatty zoe today a very bright yellow but i only got 3 polhps becouse it was 8 bucks a polp i think it was worth it but how fast do they grow when will i see more polphs apper

There's a TON of factors. Water chemistry, placement, lighting etc. On top of that you still can't truly tell how well something will do. It's nearly impossible to give an accurate judgement.

Well different kinds grow at different rates. Palythoas do best in my tank. Sunny D's tend to grow fast for me. My one colony started at 1 polyp and is up too 15 2 months later and that's including a couple frags I took off for friends. Others in the same time period only got 2-3 new polyps.

ok ty i really want to get more zoes and possible some ricordia. ricordia and kind of expesive from the size 20 bucks at my salt watter store for the cheapest one

Yea they're like $20 per at my local stores too. Great thing to do is join a local reef club. Tons of local info and reefers sell and trade stock for a lot less than stores. Obviously stores have overhead(store, equipment cost, employees, etc) so prices have to make up those costs. Reefers just want to put money back into their systems.

There five dollars at mine! Hahaha, my LFS is about to go viral... If your interested ill send you his link...

However, when you put them together, you might want to put ones that like the same type of requirements together. For example, some Zoas like more flow or light, some less.

I'll say as you learn more you'll get better with them finding their likes and dislikes in your tank and they can grow very quick if cared for properly. Don't get down if some grow fast and some don't. What zoas and palys like just like any coral is stability and to be left alone to grow. Sometimes they take off out of no where. For example I had some common colony I don't remember their name just lay dormant for a while at about 5 polyps than in one month it trippled and now it hasn't done anything again.
