zoo dip effective against sundial?

I found a small sundial last night on one of my decimated zoa colonies. It was on a rock that I can't move. By the time I got back with tweezers to try and remove, it was gone!

I plan to move my zoas to their own tank shortly and will do the zoo dip again before moving them there. Will the dip affect sundials if present? When dipping in the past, I've found pods, mini brittles, bristleworms, nudis and asterinas - but no sundials. I don't lnow if this means they were not present or if the dip is not effective against them.

Please advise.

Thanks!

I would think it would be. I understand that snails are very sensitive to salinity changes, so I'm thinking that a fresh water dip of 10 minutes would certainly dislodge them from wherever they are hiding if not kill them.

I doubt it. I did a FW dip on a new colony I got on monday and a sundial was still attached. It probably closed itself up just before I did the dip to keep the FW out.

tweezers? just use your hands man. I wouldn't bother with all that, just keep an eye on the zoos, the snail will show up sooner or later.

I said tweezers because this colony was in a spot where I can't get my big fat fingers and the snail was very tiny. I use a 10inch pair of tweezers, forceps or whatever you want to call them to get into tight places all the time.

Oh yeah .. I forgot about their little caps. I had a few on a colony I had and picked them off. They are actually really nice looking snails too, it's too bad they are a nuisance.

take the small end of a chopstick and crush it. The fish will eat it. The circle of life will close.
