zoo growth speed?

A question

Say I have a zoo colony of 50 polyps. I want it to spread (fast) to cover an area. Would it be better (grow faster) to

1) leave the whole colony of 50 polyps as 1 and let them grow, or

2) frag the colony up to, say, 5 frags of 10 polyps and stick them to the area.


Does the 2 options make any different in overall growth speed to spread/cover the area?

I kinda have a feeling (2) will be faster coz the zoo only spread outward from their perimeter... so fragging them up will have more space around to grow. Any thoughts?

Yes, usually they will multiply faster after being fragged from what I have seen and I know others have had similar experiences. Also, it is important to remember that you run the slight risk with losing some or all in the process so make sure they are very healthy and doing well before fragging or you increase the risk of loss.
