I've kept zoas under MH and PCs and though this may sound strange, i get better growth under my PCs. The MH tends to bleach out the polyps a little unless I kept the colony on the sandbed. I have a 24 Pod right now under stock 64 Watt PCs and my Zoas are doing really well and populating at a rate of about 3-5 every 2 months where as under the MH they were going 3-5 every 4-5 months. my 2 cents.

I have gotten really good growth from 2-150 DE MH 10k. I got better color with 2-150 DE MH 20K but not as much growth. I have found a happy medium with the Pheonix 14K and growth and the colors are very good.
It also depends on the type of zoo and how big the colony is. ie..
my PPE grow very slow, four polyps, but my dragon eyes grow at a pretty good clip but the colony is ever 300 polyps so I get alot of new growth every month.
I have never had PC's so I cant comment on them. BOL

I agree with the post above. I had better growth on my under PC's with Zoas. I'm sure you can get great growth with MH's, but you can't blast them with light. I blast mine to get good SPS growth and they are growing pretty slow. That's fine with me though.

interesting. my eagle eyes seem to love my halides though 150 HQI 14k

i agree i believe that the 150mh's noticeabaly more so with the 14k the growth is pretty steady and not just with the zoos as well as the other corals. mine have all reponded better with the 14k phoenix as opposed to the 10k. i have tried other mh's and the 150 has done the best IMO.
