zoo PC lighting

Hi,

I have a 120 (4x2x2 feet) tank. I have 4x96 Watt lighting. Where should I place my zoos for best growth top, middle or bottom. My limited experience tells me that zoos look better closer to the bottom of the tank than close to the top.

Also, would I get better coloration with a mix of 6700 K and actinics or better color with 10K and actinics. I realize that best looking is somewhat subjective, but your thoughts are appreciated.

I've had PC lights and they did not do any of my zoas well, in terms of colors. I would suggest placing your zoas medium to high in your tank for best result.

I have 2 96w PC's over a tank 18" tall, if I put some at the bottom of the tank, they start losing color. If I put them at the top, they color up again. This seems mostly to affect blue and purple colored ones. So I would suggest you put them up high.

Really?
I found that I get better color with PC/T5 than I do with MH.
When I put in the MH, all the Zoo's turned more brown.

2 idenitcal frags of Fire/Ice (Orange with Blue center)...
The one I put in the big tank (MH) the blue turned brown.
The one in my nano (PC) kept the blue centers.

I had no success with zoas under PC. Since I have switched to MH I can keep my zoas anywhere in the tank and they keep their coloration and multiply like crazy. Under PC I had to keep colorful zoas at the very top and often they still didn't stay as vibrant. So if you have PC ime you need to keep them as high as possible.

what temp are the mh's

i get good color with t5's, but not as good as 20k mh

sell those PC's with the money you can buy two 150W MH's retro's and build yourself a hood.
