Zoos bleached

We had a really hot spell, and my tank heated up to 86. :hmm1:I got the temp back down, but then a big piece of zoos have bleached out. I was going to take then out, but when I touched them they closed. What should I do? I put them on the bottom of the tank. I have metal halides that are on 9 hours a day. Everything else is fine!

Make sure you offer less metal halide hours to the zoas while temperature is so high.
You can turn them on only for 3 or 4 hours a day 'til you find your solution for temp.
Fans won't do it if the problem goes up to 86°F!!!!
Buy a chiller or turn air conditioner to maintain tank temperature around 79° - 80°F.
Some people have their temperature down to 75°F with great results!!!
You need to bring temp down!!
Not worthy to get stressed like that.

Leave the zoas in the tank. Their survival and colors will come back depending on how bad was the bleaching.
I had zoas coming back after up to 6 months.

Gradis.

Less MH on till you get temp stable and corals back to original colors. then when everything alright slowly ramp up times of MH on.
