Most of them are shallow, less than 5 feet. Some of the bigger colonies are deeper, 10 feet to 15 feet, but I've seen the same colors in 5 feet.
A lot of the zoos I've found are living right on the edge of the reef where the algae growth starts to disappear. Those happen to be located close to a drainage runoff and seem to have more that other locations.
