Yeah--It's not looking good from here but there are definitely some blanks.

Like the questions above and--Were any new corals added recently?

Even the zoas behind the big group look hurtin'--post back and update us.

I would first test your water parameters and let us know what they are-mainly alk and PH. They seemed too stressed to do a FW dip. Just check levels and get back to us. good luck

wow,
ph is at 7.8 - 8
Nitrates or at 40
Saltinity is 1.024
I don't have a alk test.

This is a 2.5 gallon tank with a homemade overflow into a Aqua Clear 20 filter. I have one 26watt 6500k buld and one 9watt attinic bulb. My rics and torch coral look really good. I added the zoos about 3 days before I left town. They were about 50% open. Now they look really stretched and nasty. I need to do some research on small reef tanks. Should I do a 50% water change which would be about a gallon? Also The zoas are getting alot of water current do they not like to much flow?

Ouch! I would do a water change for sure. Half is good.

Maybe the zoas weren't any good to begin with?

As long as its not totally directed at them, they like some current--in my experience.

So I pulled the zoos out and started fragging them when i noticed that some spots on the rock they are on smells really bad and has alot of black dead spots. I tried to frag as many as I could and I ended up with a lot of small frags. I did do a 50% water change and today the zoos look a lot better but they still are not 100% open. I post you with some pics later!

here are some pics, I have noticed that there is a spong looking thing on the zoos that are in the 1st and 2nd pic, I have had those for about two months now and they just started closing up. Pic 3 and 4 are the new zoos. I have a crap load of pods in this tank. Would they be upsetting them?

The bad smell and black indicate decaying sponge. That takes out allot of freshly imported zoos. During initial shipping there is always sponge die off. I always use a solution of about 10-15% peroxide(the solution you get at any drug store)/90% freshwater to dip them. It kills any bad bacteria forming on the decaying sponge. Fragging them was a good thing, so you can see the sponge. Scrape as much of the sponge off the rock as you can first, do a dip, and the zoos should recover. Good luck.
