zoos shrinking for no reason

Have you guys ever had any zoos who would shrink for no reson and then mysteriously open up again after a few days or even after a few weeks?

actually there was a parameter swing where I started dosing my alkalinity and a pH went up to a 8.8 which is really high but now it's gone back done again but after a week my zoos are still closed all my other corals are doing fine

I have a zoa colony of 100 polyps or so. And most of them are open most of the time. But the newer growth ones are always closed. I wonder what it is about my params that the new growth doesn't like because the rest of the older ones seem fine.

I'm having the same problem with some purple hornets right now. Everything else in the tank looks great.

Its usually something to do with your parameters. Remember these Z's and P's were all collected from the same areas or locations. One lighting or water parameter could be good and make 1 Z's or P's happy while one might not appreciate the lighting level, pH, temp, alk,,temp or water flow heck even one might not like your water quality be it too clean or be to nutrient rich while one set of colony does.
