What anemone?

LOL@ Gary... That big long tentacled Rose Entemacea quadricolor over on the right (it _is_ still on the right, right?)?
It is a nice tank, and thanks, however most of the compliments belong to the folks that worked hard designing and building such an environment.
It's a great resource for our community, and will hopefully continue to convey a positive message about the hobby as well. I know all the kids sure seem to like it, and heck, I think that's gotta be the best reward right there.

yes gary the big red one on the bottom right corner. i agree Reefermac. i just wish people would read the booklet that you guys have made to understand more. then saying yes kid "that nemo".

LOL! I'd be happy if they would stop scratching the ouside of the glass!
Some folks have been critical of the 'stuff' that exists for media. We've had some talented people work on it in the past, and have had new offers of assistance as well. We're working through some of the red tape involved, and trying to get in touch w/ the right folks at the zoo, so that we can get some sort of project going, to update those materials. There's a lot of considerations that need to take place that many people are not used to dealing with (have you seen how destroyed some of those pages are?), but we are fortunate to have a lot of resources there to assist us. Once we get through some of the formal stuff, we'll hopefully be able to refresh some of the things to enhance the display.
That's one area we're going to have to pull on the group again for assistance. We've been very fortunate to have so many talented and helpful people step forward w/ the recent transitions, and I honestly don't think things would look the way they do, if it weren't for those individuals. But then it's easy to take a diamond ring and dust it off and make it look pretty again. ;)

I was just there yesterday myself and was going to post a compliment. It really does look awesome and lots of growth since last time I saw it. (Parents' comments at all the exhibits drive me crazy! I'm always wanting to correct them...) The books are great, but unfortunately, they are at kids' eye-level and I found them hard to read - old eyes and the lighting wasn't great. I don't know if another set in a different spot would make a difference.

Very nice!

Kathy

Thanks Kathy, 'kid-level' was actually one of the design goals initially.... but as you said, that makes it harder for adults to read to the younger one's. We've had some discussion about different things that we can do, and I'm pretty excited about some of the idea's that have been tossed around. There's a lot of hardwork and 'things' that would need to come together to bring the pipe-dreams to fruition, but I haven't seen/heard anything that's beyond this group's talents.
Seneca Park naturally has a vested interest in what, as well as how, things are communicated, and that's the thing that has to be handled carefully. We have to make sure our exhibit works well w/ the rest of the facility, and also take care what is being communicated (public displays funded w/ government monies, are always a touchy lot). But I think those challenges will be the easy one's. ;)

that book was prefect for my 3 1/2 year old daughter to look though, i would've look though it myself, but one eye on the kid and the other on the book. wasn't going to happen.

For the love of.... Look at the size of that Seriatopora!

I remember when that guy was the size of a fist.

These shots were intended as just quick "status" shots... never intended for publishing (my photography is never good, but I would have at least shut off the flash:rolleyes: ), but WTH:
