And yes, I second that it's normal. However, if they're closing up at night and your lights are still on that could be an indication of your photoperiod being too long.

I moved the clam into my other tank.... I was wondering what the heck was up and then my buddy calls and says hows that goby treating the clam i got you for your birthday? I was like OMG thats why the clam wont open.
I had no idea, i owned the clam for months grew him up from a tiny lil guy and then i put the goby in and a few days later my clam would not open.
The clam has since healed and seems very happy under the intense metal halides of the other tank.
I know we have a pic hungry crowd and the OP has not provided any for our enjoyment so i figured this might hold them over till he figures out the cam.
